New business opens in Zephyrhills
Goin’ Postal offers various services
ZEPHYRHILLS—Marcus Price and Dr. M.J. Price recently opened anew business, a
family-owned shipping advertising and gift shop called “Goin’ Postal.”
It is located at 5310 8th St., where the couple had operated another
business — Cyberjester.com — a few years ago.
The slogan of the Prices’ new business is “We’re too much fun to work at the
Post Office!”
“Goin’ Postal” is a shop where humor is served up to every customer so that
one of life’s necessary but often annoying tasks is fun and hassle-free,
said Dr. M.J. Price.
The couple plan to promote a lighthearted, relaxing, happy atmosphere at
their business, where Dr. Price says “everything is enjoyable and nothing is
ever a big deal.”
Everyone is welcome at “Goin’ Postal,” including children and well-behaved,
leashed pets.
During the months of October and November, Dr. Price will teach free Yoga
classes for adults on Thursday nights from 7-8 p.m. Space is limited so you
must RSVP at (813) 793-1315 to reserve your spot in the Yoga class.
During November, the couple will offer a free children’s story hour on
Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. and on select Sundays in November and December,
parents may bring in the family camera to take pictures of children and pets
posing with Santa at no cost. For a nominal fee, they may have a digital
photo taken by Marcus Price and have that photo enlarged and printed on
photo paper and/or put on a mouse pad.
“Goin’ Postal” will also host free animal behavior problem solving question
and answer sessions on Nov. 13 and 14 at 8p.m., and a free dog training
class on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. as part of Dr. Price’s Yearly Pet Appreciation
Week events.
“Goin’ Postal” provides a wide variety of services and products, including
stamps, fax services and copies. The store also houses a collection of
unusual gift items, including greeting cards, religious gifts and ethnic
treasures.
The shop will also showcase and sell artwork by local artisans.
“It was just good fortune that this location was available at this time. We
have such fond memories of being here, and we loved our neighbors,” Marcus
Price said regarding being able to move back to 5310 8th Street.
“We’re really glad to be back here. It’s like coming home. We’ve had so many
ups and downs in the past 5 years that we could have thrown up our hands,
cried, yelled and just plain gone crazy. We decided to ‘go postal’ instead.
Marcus and I don’t do anything halfway. Life handed us some lemons, so we’re
gonna make lemon meringue pie, lemon sorbet, and lemon margaritas — and
we’re finally going to kick up our heels and have some fun,” Dr. M.J. Price
said.
Goin’ Postal’s grand opening barbecue celebration will be held on Saturday,
Oct. 26 from 3-5 p.m.
Free balloons will be offered for the kids (while supplies last). There will
be face painting and free patriotic mouse pads for the first 5 paying
customers, and more.
This will also be an early Halloween party for local children, who are
encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter character.
